Zen Diva will no doubt prove popular given her connections, though it's a slight concern from stall 17 that the early pace could emerge from those drawn low to middle. Another unexposed 3yo is GOLD DIGGER who was notably short in the betting for her handicap debut at Royal Ascot and is probably better than that ninth position in a field of 27. She again wandered for pressure when highly tried in a Group race last time, so the emergence of headgear could be significant. Machadadorp (second choice) tries her hand at sprinting for the first time and she looks sharp enough to cope, while Bintaryana, Sing The Blues, Secret History and Stormy Impact also enter the reckoning.[Alistair Jones] Show less
Spotlight: Made debut over 1m; confined to 7f since, winning minor races at Chester and Wetherby before bumping into what looked a handicap snip at Newmarket's July meeting (good to firm; this filly was sent off favourite); looks quick enough for 6f and has to be feared for a flying-high stable.
Spotlight: Promise in defeat last season; won a Ripon novice by 7l in May (6f, good; first-time cheekpieces) and followed up in a three-runner handicap at Salisbury (6f, good to firm; one of her rivals lost all chance at the start); it's hard to rate that form highly and she's 6lb higher, but this well-related filly could have a whole lot more to offer for shrewd connections.
Spotlight: Ran just once at two and firmly on the upgrade this season, leading late on to win at York in mid-June (6f, good; unraced on firmer) in her second handicap; that narrow verdict was a blessing as she's only 2lb higher; would appreciate some give in the ground, according to her trainer, but dangerously unexposed if conditions are suitable.
Spotlight: Maiden/novice wins at 6f; ran okay to be ninth of 27 on handicap debut at Royal Ascot (5f, good to firm; second favourite) before flying too high in a Group 3 at Sandown, again wandering under pressure; not yet exposed and she's returning to what is probably her best trip; wears first-time tongue-tie and cheekpieces; interesting.
Spotlight: It was over 7f that she won at the Newmarket July meeting but she raced freely off steady fractions there and won her novice at this trip; 1lb lower than last time if taking into account Ashley Lewis's claim and this improving filly could yet rate higher.
Spotlight: Highly tried last season after winning her maiden; back on track in just her second handicap when prevailing by a length in second-time cheekpieces at Carlisle (6f, good to firm); it could be onwards and upwards from there and she took only a 3lb hit.
Spotlight: Won her novice over C&D (good) for William Haggas whom she left for 6,000gns; that looks a bargain after she emerged from last to first when denying Shallow over 6f at Newmarket 11 days ago; that was quite taking and she could still be nicely treated off 5lb higher.
Spotlight: All the better for blinkers going on in recent starts but she ran only last Friday when beaten fair and square off this mark at Ascot (5f); there are no guarantees that returning to 6f will see her to better effect.
Spotlight: Won the 3yo Dash at Epsom (5f, good) last term and fourth in the older-horse version this season; just as effective at 6f and she never got a chance to show her true colours last time at Chester; lacking course experience is not ideal but she's not dismissed.
Spotlight: Races prominently; behind some of these in a 7f handicap at the Newmarket July meeting but the visor went on back there 11 days ago and, in a 6f handicap she'd won the previous year, she beat all bar late player Sing The Blues; her close third behind Bintaryana at York in June is another key piece of form that heightens interest.
Spotlight: Career win number ten when scooting clear in a Class 3 fillies' handicap at Newmarket in early May and she ran in a Listed race next time; however, she went up 12lb for that last win and looks vulnerable off this mark.
Spotlight: First run after wind surgery when winning easily at Pontefract in April but no further improvement has been forthcoming; returning to 6f is probably no bad thing but others are more intriguing.
Spotlight: First-time cheekpieces and a reduced mark when coming good again at Ripon (6f, good) in May and she was close up in Bintaryana's race at York next time; the latter form in particular raises hopes but she was off her game last time at Pontefract.
Spotlight: Close up over C&D in June (soft) and gained her first win away from Windsor when challenging 1f out and just holding on at Salisbury (6f, good to firm) on latest start; 2lb rise is no big deal but this race is way deeper.
Spotlight: York handicap winner last season and overcame a wide draw at Chester in May (6f, good; 4lb lower); good and bad since, though saw too much daylight when returned to 7f at Newmarket last time (behind Machadadorp); better can be expected, assuming she copes with this new experience.
Spotlight: Highly tried after winning her novice in 2024, confined to Listed and Group races ever since; it's difficult to gauge where she is right now and cheekpieces are turned to.
Spotlight: Won three sprints last year on extremes of going; however, a near-miss at Listed level in April put paid to her handicap mark and others look better treated.
Spotlight: Has won handicaps this year at 6f (good to firm) and 7f (AW); similar chance to Shallow on last month's Newmarket clash and the leaders never came back when third from off the pace at Chester latest (6f, good); each-way shout.
Spotlight: Five-time winner having a consistent season but her handicap mark hasn't really gone anywhere despite several placed efforts over 5f in lower-grade races than this; has won over this far but the chances are she'll come up short once again.
Spotlight: Often leads; ran in a Listed race in May but underwhelming handicap efforts since on Newmarket's July course and she usually runs that track well; needs a revival and she's unraced here.
