The last two winners were drawn low, after seven consecutive years when the winner came from a double-figure draw. There may be another big handicap to be won with the 2025 Irish Lincoln hero ORANDI, 8lb lower than when third in this race last year. He is a speculative tip to reverse recent Curragh form with Pierre Royal and Booyea. The lack of a recent run could count against last year's winner Dunum. One who could well at rewarding odds is Howyoulikethat, sixth at 80-1 last year. This year's Irish Lincoln winner Ribee should also enter calculations along with talented 3yo Hardy Warrior. Spotlight: Ran against smart Ballydoyle colts as a juvenile; won a three-runner 1m conditions event at Naas in March; did not quite see out the extended 1m2f when third in the Prix Noailles at Longchamp; failed to run to expectations in a valuable Gowran contest; could make a high-class handicapper, but no horse of his age has won this since 2004; cheekpieces added.
Spotlight: Won a Gowran maiden (1m, good) for Dermot Weld last May; met trouble in running on stable/seasonal debut in a Limerick race won by Monvoe; improved from that when beating Booyea in a 1m premier handicap at the Curragh a month ago; up 9lb, might struggle to confirm form with Booyea (up 5lb).
Spotlight: Completed a four-timer when winning a 7f handicap here in 2022; won the 7f Ahonoora Handicap at the 2023 festival; made it three from six at this venue (also placed three times) when winning this event last year; third in the Ahonoora later that week; absent since last September; stiff task against that background, despite his liking for the track.
Spotlight: Won 2025 Irish Cambridgeshire for Dermot Weld, beating today's rival Genuine Article by a short head; maintained his good record in races over 1m when an emphatic winner from stablemate Far Form Dandy at Naas on seasonal/stable debut; mid-division in the Royal Hunt Cup, seventh of 20 in his group, not a bad effort.
Spotlight: Enjoyed a terrific spell last October, notching three wins and two places during a hectic spell; maintained his rate of improvement when beating 24 rivals in the Irish Lincoln on return; early-season form also included second in a 1m2f premier handicap at the Curragh; unplaced twice in Listed races this term; handicap form gives him a leading chance; drawn low.
Spotlight: Ended 2025 with a pair of heavy-ground wins at Doncaster (7f); useful form in defeat this year, in the frame in competitive York handicaps (good ground) on consecutive days last month; another good run when fifth of 17 on quick going at the same venue last time; ground-versatile, trip a worry.
Spotlight: No win on turf since September 2024; has run well in defeat in good handicaps this season, including fourth to Ribee in Irish Lincoln; also second to stablemate Jagged Edge at Naas; below-par last time in a Curragh race dominated by Pierre Royal and Booyea; drawn low.
Spotlight: Won on debut at Dundalk in 2024; ran well in top handicaps last season, including third in Victoria Cup at Ascot and second in Ahonoora over 7f at this venue; has taken a while to hit form this season; opened his turf account last month at the 15th attempt; up 7lb for that 7f Cork success.
Spotlight: Only two wins from 22 Flat starts; however, he won a C&D handicap 12 months ago, and has been placed nine times; below best on seasonal debut at the Curragh in April; more like it when fifth at the same venue in May; drawn high.
Spotlight: Last win was in a valuable 1m handicap at the Curragh in June 2024; best run in almost a year when second to Pierre Royal in the same Curragh event a month ago; should come into the reckoning on that evidence, though 5lb higher now, with the winner up 9lb.
Spotlight: Four-time winner at 7f/1m, the last two at Listed level over 1m on heavy ground in the Knockaire Stakes at Leopardstown, the scene of his best form; beaten only a neck in this race two years ago, tenth behind Dunum last year; drawn low.
Spotlight: Has failed to deliver on initial promise as a hurdler; out of his depth in top juvenile events; excuse for failure to take advantage of drop in class at Ballinrobe; won over an extended 7f in France at three; never out of the first three in six races; apart from one AW run, all Flat form on soft or worse; drawn high.
Spotlight: Won the Irish Lincoln last season; attempted to bring off the double at Doncaster and produced a fine effort to finish third of 22 behind Godwinson; has failed to prosper since third to Dunum in this last year; however, he is 8lb lower now and should be at peak fitness after a Curragh prep-run in a race dominated by Pierre Royal and Booyea.
Spotlight: Has done most of her racing at 1m, odds-on for her sole win in a Killarney maiden last autumn; more recent form over longer distances in good company; this is closer to her optimum.
Spotlight: Three wins in Britain in 2023 at up to 1m; regressive in 2024 and 2025 seasons; has found a new lease of life, recording back-to-back wins in a Limerick claimer and a handicap at Ballinrobe; 4lb wrong, so needs to raise his game another notch; first reserve.
Spotlight: Seven-time winner, including Listed and Group 3 races; not a bad effort (seventh behind Pierre Royal at the Curragh) on first handicap start since 2023; towards the back at Leopardstown last time; cheekpieces tried.
Spotlight: Twice runner-up in nurseries on AW last autumn; progressive and highly dependable this season, winning three of his five races; 7lb out of the handicap, but connections are entitled to aim high given his profile; second reserve.
Spotlight: 10lb out of the handicap; no sign that he can add to a juvenile win at Newmarket; third reserve.
Spotlight: Last of five wins was in 2023 when he ran well in a Group 3 at Leopardstown and a Listed contest at Killarney; not the force he was, though he has run well from time to time, including when sixth of 14 at 80-1 in this race last year; fair third at Killarney last time; valuable 5lb claimed, could go well at a decent price.
Spotlight: Won on good ground at two in France; ran only twice for William Haggas in 2024; same last year for this stable, the best of those a second at Leopardstown on the first of two late-season handicap outings; dismal form in three subsequent outings
